Reverse Mortgage Specialist
The goal, which has become Jim’s passion, is to educate Seniors about the potential benefits of reverse mortgages and determine if this loan program can help them enjoy a higher quality of life. Working with seniors, their families and the trusted professionals who advise them, Jim helps in their efforts to either purchase a new home using the HECM PURCHASE program or refinance their current home using a Reverse Mortgage to convert equity to needed funds to meet other needs.
His background in the world of finance began with an extensive education at The Regan School of Economics at Merrill Lynch. He quickly learned that this was to be his niche. After several years with Merrill Lynch in the San Francisco Bay area, Jim and his lovely wife “retired” to Sarasota. They selected Lakewood Ranch as their new home.
Soon after arriving in Florida, Jim determined that he was not done with work and decided to put his financial knowledge to good use in assisting borrowers over the age of 62 with a loan product called a reverse mortgage. Reverse mortgages are very different from traditional mortgages in that the borrower does not need income to qualify. One of the best features of a reverse is that instead of paying for mortgage payments, the borrower can actually receive a monthly income stream. Jim has written reverse mortgages for many individuals and families, seeing firsthand how this program can change lives. While Jim has continued to help others with this plan, he has not forgotten to play golf with friends and his wife. Jim is also heavily involved with Harvest United Methodist Church and its major outreach program, MISSION FOR MILITARY, which concentrates their efforts and resources on veterans and their families in need.
